Lafayette Park

In this session, we will explore unique planning vehicles for non-traditional families. When should a polyamorous throuple ever use a triple grantor trust? Can an LLC replicate marriage protections for LGBTQIA+ couples, particularly if Obergefell is overturned? How do we make sure that non-joint children actually inherit something from their parent? This session will explore unique considerations and opportunities for advanced planning.

Learning Objectives

  • Learn when a family LLC may be more appropriate than a revocable living trust to manage their day-to-day assets.
  • Identify when non-traditional families require a non-traditional approach to their estate and financial planning.
  • Form a better understanding of the risks of poor planning with non-joint children.
