NAPFA DEI Training and Certificate Workshop
May 7, 2025 | 1-4 PM
Building a workplace where everyone feels valued requires more than awareness—it takes intentional action. This engaging session will help financial professionals recognize and challenge biases, foster a culture of inclusion, and create workplaces where both employees and clients can thrive. By understanding the impact of bias in decision-making and client interactions, participants will gain practical tools to cultivate an environment of trust, respect, and belonging. This session goes beyond theory, offering real-world strategies that can be implemented immediately to drive meaningful change.
The NAPFA DEI Training and Certificate program aims to provide NAPFA members and other financial advisors with resources and education around four specific DEI topics—culture, hiring practices, people, and inclusion. The certificate program provides participants with the skills to transform their workplace by cultivating an inclusive and diverse environment.
Attendees will learn how embracing varied perspectives through inclusive hiring practices and a supportive culture can unlock significant benefits, including improved decision-making, increased productivity, and enhanced employee retention. By shifting from "cultural fit" to "cultural add" and recognizing each individual's unique contributions, you'll gain the tools to create a workplace where employees feel valued and empowered to be their authentic selves.
This session will equip you with practical skills to build a culture of inclusion, leading to higher employee satisfaction, increased organizational performance, and a stronger, more cohesive team. Ultimately, you'll learn how to create a workplace where everyone thrives, contributing to a more successful and dynamic organization.
Learning Objectives
- Equip NAPFA members with education on fostering inclusion and belonging in financial planning.
- Provide resources to professionals dedicated to increasing representation in the industry.
- Offer strategies to better serve historically marginalized clients and communities.
